Introduction

The Blade 350 QX3 quadcopter has such a modern and elegant looking design to it, it’s no wonder this is becoming one of the most popular drones of the year. The Blade 350 QX3 is filled with some amazing features and is capable of being flown for up to 15 minutes.

In my opinion, I think that the Blade 350 QX3 is one of the most impressive looking drones on the market. While there are a lot of  versions made since its inception, I especially like the QX3 AP Combo RTF with the C-Go2 camera. The downside is this is more expensive given the camera’s quality. Rather than the original $399 price you’d be looking to spend around $816.

Nevertheless, any one of these Blade 350 QX3 drones will get the job done.. Whether it be for one of the best drone flying experiences or a great way to begin filming from the skies, the Blade 350 QX3 is nearly its own art of perfection!

Camera & Quality

There are two main versions of the product when it comes to the Blade 350 QX3 and this only deals with the camera. The first version is just the regular Blade 350 QX3 that you can purchase Blade 350 QX3 Quadcopter Reviewfor $399 on Amazon.

The downside of this is that you have to purchase your own camera separately. The benefit is you can pick and choose your own GoPro camera. The fact it is GoPro-ready is a huge plus here as GoPro is becoming one of the most popular cameras used for drones today.

It’s great they give you two options, as some people might not want or need that great of a camera and are simply looking to buy the drone itself. It also lets you customize and/or upgrade your camera down the line. This really allows for greater convenience and is an option I can see more and more drones use in the future.

The second option is choosing the Blade 350 QX3 with the C-Go2 Camera. Regardless of what you choose, both quadcopters include the exact same features. The Blade 350 with the C-Go2 Camera costs around $815 and isn’t a bad deal at all, given the amazing quality of this camera. The only downfall here is that you can only move the camera gimbal up and down rather than side to side. But as far as the gimbal goes, it is very stable, and the videos come out looking fantastic every time.

Dimensions & Specifications

The Blade 350 QX3 isn’t too big and it isn’t too small. The size is just about perfect measuring 21.8 inches long and 13.5 inches wide. To put this in better perspective, it is smaller than most other drones in this price range like the DJI Phantom and Walkera Voyager 3. The drone is also stable in windy weather, which is something you don’t see very often with an above par handle and response time.

Flying, Durability, & Controls

The Blade 350 QX3 can be flown right out of the box – that’s right, almost no setup needed! But that’s not the best part. The Blade 350 drone is literally perfect no matter your experience. Most drones in this price range require you to have at least some Blade 350 QX3 Quadcopter Reviewexperience. In this case, the Blade 350 was made with everyone in mind.

Not to mention that the Blade 350 QX3 is also very technologically advanced. Its Smart Mode feature makes drone flying for first-time flyers a breeze and is by far one of my favorite features. Not only is this helpful for first-time users, but for even more experienced flyers themselves. Smart Mode removes the hassle of trying to find out in which way the nose is pointing so you can take off from any direction.

For more advanced drone pilots, the AP Mode also known as Aerial Photography is great for users and professional photographers who are trying to their Blade drone in harder to reach angles for better shots.. One word of advice hereDo not use the AP Mode if you’re just starting or don’t know what you’re doing.

Many people have actually crashed the drone by accidentally turning this feature on.

In addition, the Blade 350 has two more modes that you can set. One is called Stability and the other, Agility. These put you in complete and total control of the quadcopter allowing you to fly and do tricks that would be harder to do otherwise. Again, only use this once you have mastered the basics!

Blade 350 QX3 Overview

The Blade 350 QX3 is one of the few advanced drones that is perfectly suited for beginners and advanced users alike. The main downfall really comes down to the more advanced options, believe it or not. As most users who are unaware of what they’re doing will turn these on only to crash the drone in the end. Otherwise, the Blade 350 QX3 is nearly flawless, versatile, and very well-worth the price tag.

With advanced features like FPV, Smart Mode, a GPS, and SAFE technology just to name a few this is the only quadcopter a beginner could need.

The interchangeable camera and very steady gimbal with advanced flying modes makes it a perfect drone for photographers and hobbyists. It is definitely a step-up from much cheaper quadcopters like the Syma X5C and in my opinion, is worth every penny. Take note that this quadcopter was not built for speed but for longer flight, great photography, and total reliability. All in all, the Blade 350 QX3 is one very pleasing and impressive drone that looks amazing at night!

  1. This is a good review of the Blade 350 QX3. I’ve just started researching drones and this looks like it would be a good option. Do you feel that this would be a good option for a first time user? I saw you mentioned that someone should have some experience first – if you have none – is this still OK?

    • Thanks Jeff! Yes, the Blade 350 QX3 is actually one of the better high end drones that would be a great option for a first time user. It was made for both beginners and experienced users alike. The one thing you’ll want to avoid however, is using the AP mode, which was made for more advanced drone users.

  2. Peter,

Thanks for this great read and review on an awesome toy!
I have always loved flight like so many, but to have a drone with this much capability would really be awesome.
I am curious when you mentioned having access to the gimbal on a vertical plane only, I guess that leaves the pilot to compensate for any horizontal viewing?

I love your mention of a “Smart Mode” I am afraid I would be in need as a novice to the world of drones.
Thankfully I am no where near an airport so I won’t make the national news any time in the near future either.
    Great read thanks again,

    • No problem Canna! The Blade 350 QX3 is one of my favorites. The features and capabilities are really out of this world. To answer your question, you’re absolutely correct. The gimbal only allows you to use the camera vertically and not horizontally. This might be an inconvenience to some, especially advanced aerial photographers, but I have found that the range in which the camera takes video is already pretty wide.

The Smart Mode feature is definitely a great touch here. I believe this is one of the newer features that remove the hassle of having to try and position the quadcopter before each and every takeoff. Another great feature for beginning drone users! 🙂

  3. Interesting, drones are awesome! This is a great review, however I would have liked to see some price quotes/comparisons so I would know if it was a good buy compared to other drones for sale. 4. Impressive! Fabulous review!

I have been thinking of buying a quad for almost a year, but now you have gotten me a lot closer.

I would like to know more about the camera though. It sounds like it might be a middle of the road camera? Is it truly worth the extra price that is being charged? How much is the camera if I were to buy it alone?

    • No problem at all CannaGarry. Glad you liked the review and I hope it helped to provide some additional insight into the Blade 350 QX3. The smart mode will definitely help your flying skills if you’re still a novice. And, yes you’re correct in that you won’t have as much horizontal viewing with the Blade 350. Glad to hear you’ll be flying your drone more responsibly than others 🙂
