Cheerson CX-StarsDespite being one of Cheerson’s less popular models, this miniature quadcopter is fun and easy to fly. This tiny hand-held drone is known for its great responsiveness and easy to fly nature.

The drone has a headless mode function and is capable of 3d flips. Some could argue that more work could have been put into making the CX-Stars nano a bit better. But when it comes to price, you just can’t beat it.

The flying distance is 60 feet and although it can only be flown for 4 minutes at a time (due to its small 80mAh battery), the Cheerson CX-Stars mini drone only has a 30 minute charging time, which is great. If you’re looking for a decent and basic flier, you’ll enjoy this starter drone. But generally speaking, we’d say you’d be better off with the CX-10 or CX-10A, which actually cost less. If there’s one thing for certain, it’s that Cheerson’s true expertise lies in its creation of nano-sized drones, as is evident by the CX-30W. The quadcopter itself is bland and unlike Cheerson’s innovative nano drones is only available in white. It does include LED lights however.

Marked with an X on top and color-coded propellers, the CX-30W also offers WiFi FPV and a 0.3MP camera, similar to that of the CX-10W. It also has 3 levels of flight, but doesn’t include many other features and is even absent of a headless mode.

More importantly, the drone itself isn’t very durable and you’ll find that the propellers and prop guards are susceptible to falling off. All in all, we would say that the CX-30W drone is just.. too bland overall in our experience and doesn’t offer enough, even at its somewhat low price point.

Instead of allowing 4 minutes in flying time, the CX-10 has an upward of 5 to 6 minutes in flight time. This is due to its somewhat higher capacity battery with use of 100mAh. Its 3-levels of speed modes additionally allows starters to work their way up into more advanced modes for flying at faster speeds.

Its 40 meter control distance is simply perfect for indoor flying. And with only 30 minutes of charge time and its ability to fly at both slow and high speeds, the CX-10 is a rather acceptable starter drone.
