Top 10 Holy Stone Drones & Quadcopters

In my opinion, Holy Stone offers some of the most reliable and easy to use entry-level drones of any brand or manufacturer out there. Every new drone release they come out with always tends to live to user expectations. In general, people experience less malfunctions coupled with some amazing customer service by the people over at Holy Stone.

Unlike Syma, whose drones range from the smallest miniature quadcopters to huge UFO “super-ships,” Holy Stone tends to stick to a moderately average size. In addition, they make sure to add a camera onto every single one of its models. What I like most about Holy Stone though is the overall sleekness, design, and precision they put into the making of their drones.

If you’re looking for something that truly looks high-tech, then Holy Stone will please your eye. Whether you’re an entry-level flier or someone that’s more advanced, you’ll find most of Holy Stones drones to be just right due to the integrated use of multiple speed modes. Quadcopters like the HS150 for example, come equipped with 5 speed modes making it enjoyable for both beginner and advanced flyers alike. Here is our top list of the best Holy Stone drones out there for the taking!

Holy Stone HS190 ReviewIt’s a drone that is small, portable, and foldable, and filled to the brim with new features. Also known as the HS190, the drone is almost perfect for its size and is one more reason to love Holy Stone.

From one key takeoffs and landings to a return to pilot function, the HS190 finds its way into the hands of both the new and experienced. It is a ‘snappy’ looking drone with a transmitter unlike any we’ve seen, allowing you to carry the folded up drone within the transmitter itself.

There is no doubt that the HS190 is one of Holy Stone’s most unique offerings. Despite it’s lower price, we see tremendous value here and love how the brand never shies away from giving users the best that it can. Those who have an admiration for miniature, foldable drones should give this one a go!

  • Flying Time: 5 to 7 Minutes
  • Flying Distance: 30 to 50 Meters
  • Charge Time: 40 Minutes

The HS170 Predator Mini by Holy Stone is possibly one of the best starter drones you can buy. In terms of price & features it’s at the lower end of the spectrum, but is a wonderful machine to get your hands on for some drone flying practice.

Made for beginners and experts alike, the Holy Stone HS170 is optimal for indoor, outdoor, and nighttime flying. While it doesn’t have the best transmission range, the HS170 stands out for its responsiveness, stability, and its 3 adjustable speed modes for faster flying.

It has a headless mode option for beginners as well, so you’ll never need to concern yourself over the quadcopters orientation. Its 6-axis gyro technology will give you both stability, while allowing you to perform some flawless 3D flips and rolls. At this price, the HS170 Predator is one of Holy Stone’s best and most favorite quadcopter releases in recent years.

  • Flying Time: 6 to 8 Minutes
  • Flying Distance: 30 to 50 Meters
  • Charge Time: 60 to 80 Minutes

Holy Stone HS150 ReviewThe reason this drone is called the Bolt Bee Mini is for few reasons. One, the drone looks like a bee. Second, it’s a small drone that only measures about 5 inches in both width and length. Lastly, it’s extremely fast, making it the perfect go to drone for the novice racing flyer.

While it isn’t jam-packed with features, the HS150 is capable of 5 speed modes with the latter mode reaching up to 50 km/h (or 31 mph). Known for its agility, speed, and handling, the HS150 incorporates more speed modes than we’re typically used to.

The HS150 is thus, a ton of fun to fly, especially indoors where flying through tight spaces can be more of a challenge. Perfect for the most novice to expert flyer, the HS150 offers 2 high-powered batteries to double your flight time and is one drone you’re sure to enjoy. Just don’t ‘buzz’ around too much!

holy stone x400c drone

The next line up in Holy Stone’s X-series is the X400C, which delivers both powerful and stable performance, similar to the Holy Stone X300C.

The biggest difference between the two is that this drone only provides 8 minutes of flying time instead of 10. The X400C also includes a one key return home function that allows your drone to automatically fly back to you.

Everything else, from its controls to its headless mode feature and 360-degree flips are the same. In general, we’d say that the entry-level X400C drone is definitely worth the extra few bucks if you can spare it.

  • Flying Time: 8 Minutes
  • Flying Distance: 50 to 100 Meters
  • Charge Time: 60 to 80 Minutes

Holy Stone HS200WNext up we have the Holy Stone HS200W, which kicks things up a gear by including plenty of advanced features to occupy your time with. It’s got amazing specs as well, such as a surprisingly low 60 minute charge time, 9 minutes in flying time, and a transmission range that can reach nearly 120 meters.

While the HS200W also includes a 2 megapixel camera, it’s only capable of 720P quality, which isn’t the best (or worst) in the business. Its FPV Wifi capability, headless mode, altitude hold mode, and gravity sensor however, all speak volumes of what the HS200W is truly capable of.

Headless mode, as mentioned is a mode that allows beginners to enjoy their time in the sky by giving users more control. Altitude hold mode, essential for taking pictures and videos at good clarity, allows your drone to simply hover in place. The HS200W even allows you to fly and control the drone with your smartphone, which is where the gravity sensor comes into play, allowing you to control flight by simply moving your smartphone. As if that isn’t enough.. The Holy Stone HS200W has even got your one key return home function so you can have it flying back to you at a moments notice.

  • Flying Time: 7 to 9 Minutes
  • Flying Distance: 120 Meters
  • Charge Time: 60 Minutes

Holy Stone HS110This is a drone similar in many ways to Holy Stone’s HS200W. With the HS110, we have all the same awesome features that the HS200W consists of.

Even their measurements, flight times, distance, and charge times are the exact same. These two drones could be considered identical, if it weren’t for the minor difference in the drone’s design.

The HS110 has a much flatter and even base, where as the HS200W has more of a bumpy middle piece. Both the HS110 and HS200W are considered to be apart of the Holy Stone’s ‘HS series’.

  • Flying Time: 7 to 9 Minutes
  • Flying Distance: 120 Meters

Yes, we are back to another foldable drHoly Stone HS160 Reviewone, which Holy Stone has seemingly done well to perfect. Foldable arms make the HS160 easy to carry, making it perfect for both indoor and outdoor flight.

There are more reasons to fall in love with the HS160. The first is VR compatibility, which those of you with a VR headset are sure to love, which also means the HS160 offers a one of a kind FPV experience. The HS160 is excellent in many ways and also is one of Holy Stone’s most recent releases. Additional features of the lovely HS160 include beautiful nighttime LED lights, 4 speed modes, and let’s not forget our 720p HD camera to go with it.

Holy Stone F181 Drone3. HOLY STONE F181 & F181W

One of Holy Stone’s best drones is in its F-series lineup. These includes both the F181 and F181W drones that include all the proper necessities. Despite the F181’s popularity, it does lack WIFI FPV real-time transmission. This feature however, is included in the F181W version of the quadcopter, which is also VR Headset compatible.

Everything else you need in the F181 drone is there.. It has headless mode, which is perfect for beginners looking for something a bit more advanced. Both also have the one-key return function, 360-degree eversion, and altitude hold function and even include a spare battery for extra flight time. In terms of flight performance, that is where the Holy Stone F181 truly excels.

If it wasn’t for its shorter battery life, we might go as far to say that its flight and stability is even comparable to drones in much higher price ranges. With 4 speed modes, amazing night time visibility, durability, and stability, the Holy Stone F181 and F181W top the list of the best Holy Stone drones & quadcopters. It’s got fascinating appeal and is considered beginner-friendly as well.

Its 150 meter control range is accompanied with altitude hold, one key return, and excellent speed control mode to help you take the perfect shots.

The HS400 drone is surely a drone to contend with given its elaborate attention to detail. What you’ll also love with the HS400 is its adjustable FPV camera allowing you to control it in a 75-degree angle rotation from the transmitter. The HS400 quadcopter is a beauty indeed.

  1. This site is awesome for drone lovers! I have never owned a drone by Holy Stone, but I know lots of people who buy them. How reliable is the Holy Stone brand in general and which type on this list do you feel gives the most value for the money? Thanks for sharing these top drones!

    • Without a doubt, Holy Stone is one of my favorite brands for entry level to intermediate quadcopters. You really can’t go wrong with any of them and I think that each Holy Stone drone is unique in its own way. But personally, the HS170 Predator is one of my favorite entry-level quadcopters and also one of the best for indoor flying. If you’re looking to get into more advanced Holy Stone quadcopters, I would say that the F181 & F181W easily take the cake in my book for its advanced features like one-key return, altitude hold, and WiFi FPV. Hope that helps 🙂

  2. I’m really fascinated by a few of these drones by Holy Stone and I think your recommendations are quite good. I particularly liked the X300C due its longer flying time. However, I’m looking for an outdoor flyer that could possibly be flown for longer, perhaps somewhere in the 20-25 minute range. Do you know of any entry-level models that can handle that kind of flight duration or does that only tend to be available in more advanced models? Thanks.

    • Thanks for the great question Shrey, and there is no denying that the majority of today’s entry-level drones could use longer flight times and stronger battery capacity. Drones that are capable of flying for over 20 minutes at a time are typically seen with more advanced brands and models like the DJI Phantom, Parrot, Walkera, and Blade (to name a few).

But there are ways of extending your flying time. One of the best ways is to purchase one or two spare batteries for any drone you plan on buying in the future. Here are also some of the longest flying drones, you’ll find in today’s entry-level drones as well!

  3. Thanks for the information about Holy Stone Drones! These all do seem like quality drones. I really want to get one some day for filming and taking epic photos from the air but I’ll have to wait until I have the funds or I can get one as a gift one day. It might be good to start out with one of these in order to learn the ropes and then upgrade to a more expensive one.

    • No problem at all Luke. Glad you liked the post. I agree, starting out with one of these more entry level drones is a great idea before upgrading to some of today’s more advanced drones, and to get a better feel of the flying, features, and controls. Thanks for the comment!

  4. I am hoping someone can help me as I am having a very hard time deciding between the Holy Stone HS160 VS Holy Stone F181C.

I cannot seem to find any comparisons and I cannot seem to really find any good information on what would make the F181 a better choice then the HS160 both are the same price right now at $89 on sale.

I’d reallllly appreciate your insight you drone geniuses!

  5. We had an issued with the x300c camera transmitting to our smartphone. Customer service has been very helpful and are willing to replace the drone. The x300c is not available and they would like to switch it out with the hs200. I can’t find a good comparison between the two. Any thoughts?

    • Hi Brandon, that’s correct. The X300C is no longer available by Holy Stone. I think you’d be better off going with the HS200 in any case, as this drone is much more reflective of today’s technology. The HS200 drone is one you’ll be sure to enjoy. Feel free to see our HS200 review here for more details!
